My Experience at AIM 2009

by Dymond Starr

AIM was a very great and fun experience for me.  Even though this was my first AIM Convention, I felt welcomed.  AIM wasn’t just about going on a weeklong vacation and having to go to church every day and night, it’s about coming from near and far to give God thanks and learning new things and meeting new people.

At AIM the services were great and the choir was even better, but the classes were educational, yet inspirational. The Young Women of Excellence was a very enjoyable class.  Not only did we talk about church and listen to the word that the sermon had in store for us, but we talked about problems and topics us girls have trouble with in our everyday lives.  And what was said in those four walls stayed within those walls!!!

Whenever I wasn’t at church or in class, I was probably in the venders area, atthe pool after the day service, or at the  basket ball game around 5:00.  After the night service, all the kids and young adults were at the famous gathering place.  The gathering place is like a concert were people come and sing, dance, do comedy and show everyone their talents. You could sit and talk friends and mingle with new people; and it doesn’t end till the early hours in the morning .

I had a lot of fun at the AIM Convent.  It was a very good experience for me and I can’t wait until next year.
