Whenever I teach my Sunday School or Prayer & Bible Band class, I always jokingly tell them that watching the National Geographic channel will bring them closer to God. I recently watched an interesting segment about African wild dogs which, according to National Geographic, are said to be one of the most effective and dangerous predators. These dogs can take down very large prey. How are they able to do this? Togetherness is the answer. These dogs work together to hunt their prey. They surround the prey causing it to become confused during their attack. When a prey is killed the young, strong hunters feed first and they later carry food back to their young and the sickly.
We can learn a valuable lesson from these African wild dogs. Working together is the best way to defeat the enemy. A strong bond is difficult to break. When a congregation is able to work united, God is able to do a great work in that church. On the other hand, when there is disunity, the enemy is able to come in and cause division among the body of Christ. We need to surround each other with prayer, and through fellowship we can keep the enemy from coming in and tearing down the body.
