I recently finished the book Shutout by Brendan Halpin. It’s mostly about soccer, friendship and forgiveness. I usually don’t read books about soccer, but I decided to give it a try – and when I did I didn’t want to put down the book. I thought it was just so good!
Shutout was mainly about a 14 year old girl who loves soccer. She is a little self-conscious about herself because she is 5’ 10 in the 9th grade. She feels like she is out of place because of her height and she sometimes feels unwanted by how she is treated by others about her height and personality. But to always make her feel happy is her best friend who is her soccer buddy. They both wanted to make Varsity soccer, but only her friend did, and that made their friendship crumble.
what is the story's climax, and then?
