“Sounds like one of those murder mysteries “
Proverbs 13:22 A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children. I am sure that most of us have had to deal with the loss of a loved one; whether it is a grandparent, an aunt or uncle, a cousin, a brother or even a classmate. Some in the midst of their mourning make decisions concerning your loved ones final wishes. After the “home going” services, we begin to address the individual’s wishes concerning the distribution of their assets and belongings.
Perhaps when the will was read, you experienced the hurt and disappointment of having someone get the one item you admired for years. You may know what it feels like to have a relative or in some cases a complete stranger walk away with everything of sentimental and monetary value. Greed makes his grand appearance, the bickering, fighting and arguing begins, many times before the deceased has been buried.
Since Adam and Eve, men and women have promised or willed an inheritance: this parcel of land, that lamp, this bed, that car or this Bible to one they loved or trusted. Adam, our 1st father, because of his sin in the Garden of Eden, left us an inheritance that is filled with sorrows, sweat, disease and physical death. I recognize the 2nd Adam, Jesus Christ in the garden of Gethsemane who withstood the temptations of the flesh and took dominion over thoughts and the enemy and declared, “Not my will but thy will be done."
Don't get me wrong, money and some earthly possessions are nice but a legacy of walking and trusting God is far more valuable for all those who you’ll come in contact with. Realize the money will quickly deplete, the houses will age and depreciate. Ultimately, the cars will rust and fail when you need it the most. Many of us read books for school, to keep up with technological advancements on our jobs, and many merely for entertainment. We read to become lawyers, doctors, accountants and to enhance our livelihoods. How many of us study the Bible, this manual of life; this new and living will and testament? Do you know the author of this will? Do you know what He said? And the inheritance he left now into eternity?
Hebrews 6: 16-18 for men verily swear by the greater, and an oath for conformation is to them an end of all strife. Wherein God, willing more abundantly to show unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, conformed it by an oath. That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lay, we might have strong consolation, which have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us.
The word immutable means it’s not subject or susceptible to change. God has given unto us an oath and promises and backed up with the impossibility of his changing it or telling a lie.
It Is Written
- 1 John 3:2 Beloved, now we are the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know. That when he shall appear; we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.
- John 14:1 let not your hearts be troubled, ye believe in God, believe also in me, and in my Father’s house are many mansions, if it were not so, I would have told you, I go to prepare a place for you.
- Mark 16:17-18 And these signs shall follow them that believe , in my name they shall cast out devils , they shall speak with new tongues, they shall take up serpents and if they drink any deadly thing it shall not hurt them, they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover.
- 1st Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither has it entered into the heart of man the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
- Hebrews 9: 15-17 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance. 16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. 17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth. 18 Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood.
So every time the nay Sayers, detractors or the voices of doubt arise or even a contester of this will lifts his voice, grab your copy of this living will and boldly declare. It Is Written.
God searched heaven and earth and when he couldn’t find anything more valuable he swore by Himself, stretched himself on Calvary’s cross, shed his precious and perfect blood, leaving us empowered, protected and purposed to spend eternity with him.
It Is Written in His blood ……………………………
