The youth of this generation is a lot different from previous generations. The world's perception on fashion has convinced my generation that in order for a woman to look cute, you have to be half dressed. For a man, society believes that it’s cool to have your pants sag to the point to where you trip over your own drawers. I don't focus on those things. What's important to me is music.
Music today is nothing like it used to be in the past. Music used to come from the heart and today, a lot of people are listening to the beat instead of the actual words. You hear this now in some gospel music. The words have no meaning. Now more than ever, some inspirational music is taking on secular beats and putting them into so-called 'holy' gospel music with lyrics that mention nothing about God or Jesus. In these artists' attempt to try and encourage the youth to know about God, they miss a great opportunity to do so when our gospel music sounds secular and has no words at all about Jesus. How do they know that they’re listening to gospel music?
In order to change the world, we've got to change ourselves. Being holy doesn't mean trying to copy the world’s stuff so that we can draw people into our church. It means separating ourselves from the world and using what God has given us to bring the world to Christ and His Word.
