Our 2013 Pilgrimage to Pentecost journey began with prayer and fasting on March 9 and concluded on May 19. During this time of consecration the saints at Holiness Tabernacle Church Of God In Christ took the time to commune with God and were able to witness His miraculous power.
This consecration was not just for our local assembly, but for the entire Church Of God In Christ to petition the throne of grace for revival and renewal of Pentecostal power. Having endured to the very end, we can say with great excitement, “God did it!”
During our 40 days of fasting and prayer we ran a revival with guest speaker, Elder Robert Chambers of Flint, Michigan. The Lord poured out His spirit during the revival services and testimonies went forth as God healed, delivered and set free.
Our focus during this time of consecration was to go back to the old landmarks; this reflects our theme focus: Continuing and Upholding the Legacy of True Holiness. Pastor Pruitte often reminded the saints that we have somehow lost track of our fundamental pillars of ministry, worship and seeking the Holy Spirit. Prayer was taken out of schools, wars are rising, hatred is hovering, and so called “solutions” are ending in gun violence. God want us to go back; to remember what we learned. God is coming for a Church without a spot or wrinkle. We must bow down and worship Him to gain knowledge and understanding of what it is God wants us to do.
That’s not to say this was an easy 40 day consecration. Throughout the weeks, several shared testimonies of difficult moments during the fast; however the church prevailed and God was well pleased. During this fast, we witnessed healing, families mending, chains broken, individuals being reunited with God, deliverance and favor. It was truly a God-ordained Pentecostal journey!
