The church’s anniversary brought an array of speakers that encouraged the seasoned church to stay strong and hold fast to God’s unchanging hand. Bishop Floyd Brown (Church of the Blessed Trinity), Elder William O. Cornick (Body of Believers) and Superintendent William T. Coles (Loving) all brought forth messages on their respective night that encouraged the saints of Holiness Tabernacle to continue pressing forward in God.
On the night of May 19, Superintendent William T. Coles encouraged the saints to stay strong even when being persecuted by the world.
“When someone in your life acts out, take it to God in prayer and stay saved,” he implored. “Cry out to God. Somebody’s got to have some sense.” In order to do that, the saints have got to live by Hebrews 12:1, laying aside every sin, weight and burden that easily attaches itself, and loving those who hurt us.
“It takes something to love those who persecute you,” said Supt Coles. “Paul prayed for everybody. When you got the heart of God, you pray for everyone.”
As the church grows and matures, so does the Word that God has for its people. This year with a theme entitled, “Continuing and Upholding the True Legacy of Holiness,” the church is being called to truly live a holy and separated life.
