Holiness Tabernacle hosted the 47th Annual Great Northern District meeting

Holiness Tabernacle Church Of God In Christ pulled out all the stops as the host for the Great Northern District’s 47th Annual District Meeting which ran from May 19-23.

No detail was overlooked. No stone was left unturned as Holiness Tabernacle rolled out the red carpet to welcome the District’s churches and guests. The meeting kicked off Monday evening with a musical. An atmosphere for worshipping God was created as various singers and musical acts lifted praises unto the glorified King.

Holiness Tabernacle’s very own Pastor, Assistant Superintendent Eddie B Pruitte brought a powerful Word Tuesday night.

“What makes us great as a district?” Pastor Pruitte posed to the congregation. “Is it because our district is the largest in size? No, we’re only great because God uses us. If God doesn’t use us, we ain’t great!”

Pastor gave the example of David, counted least among his brethren, who stood up and faced Goliath. He reiterated that only when we allow God to use us do we become great, or accomplish anything great.

“I challenge the Great Northern District to let God use us, so we can truly be great!”

Following Pastor Pruitte’s night, the saints came in droves to hear from our jurisdictional prelate, General Board member, Bishop Ted Thomas, Sr. Prior to him taking the pulpit, the saints received a sensational entrance from Elder Clifton Cooley of the Well C.O.G.I.C. Garbed in his Sheriff’s uniform, Elder Cooley arrived with blue lights flashing to introduce Bishop.

After that exciting introduction, Bishop Thomas brought a powerful and convicting Word from God which centered on the question, ‘what’s in your hands?’

“We all have something [in our hands] that God can use… energy, our time… but we must make available for God,” Bishop Thomas declared. “Remember that your gift and anointing is a matter of you being available, not being qualified.”

Thursday was Women’s Day with workshops and evening service. During the workshop, Missionary Carter discussed the importance of the local missions department, the international church’s home and foreign missions program and the various types of mission works that can be done in the community. She highlighted “Yeshua”’s mission program as well as the great work Holiness Tabernacle’s mission department has carved out in the Woodbridge community.

Later that evening, the women honored District Missionary Linda Hawkins, whose message was a testimony to the goodness of the Lord.

The weeklong meeting drew to an end with a message from the superintendent of the Great Northern District, Superintendent Tony Campbell.

The 47th Great Northern District Meeting was rip roaring success and Pastor Pruitte expressed his appreciation to the membership. “Holiness Tabernacle…I’m godly proud of you,” he said the Sunday following the district meeting. “From the men who worked parking to hospitality who provided meals, each and every one of you deserves to give yourselves a hand praise for your great work.”

The meeting was a testament to the great things God is doing at Holiness Tabernacle. Once again, He is proving that He is a great God and that we are a great people who expect great things to be manifested in our ministry.
