Surrendering All for the Full Transformation In the Spirit

Surrendering All For the Full Transformation In the Spirit

The Church Of God In Christ believes that the baptism of the Holy Ghost is given to all believers who ask for it according to Acts 2:4.  As someone who is newly born again, I knew it was essential to receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost.  John 3:5 says, “Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of GOD” (KJV).  In addition to having not only been born in the church but recently saved, I understood the enemy would try to persuade me back to my sinful ways, and I needed to be filled to aid me in my walk with JESUS.  Romans 8:26 says, “Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered” (KJV).

Being armed with this knowledge, I began shedding things that were not like HIM in my life.  Places I used to go, I did not go anymore; my talk was different, and I began to tell my friends how my life had changed.  However, the enemy tried to work his way back into my life.  I then decided to fast each weekday and pray more often.

During a Tuesday night service, I was on my knees praying.  The devil began to tell me my knees and my head hurt. He also tried my make me leave the service by trying to make me vomit.  But I began to pray harder and call on the name of JESUS.  Suddenly, I began to shake uncontrollably and as I was praying, words that were not of the English language were coming out.  The Bible says in Acts 2:4, “And they were filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance” (KJV).

I believe I was only able to receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost because I truly was committed to living a saved life.  Sometimes in our Christian lives, we can proclaim being saved but there is no full transformation.  But once we surrender to HIS will, GOD will bless us and we will meet HIM when HE returns.
