There is None Like Him

Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Philippians 2:9-11

Those that know me will concur that I don’t spend a great deal of time speaking negatively or talking down other faiths or reformations.  I am so excited and satisfied about my faith and denomination, I don’t have time to focus on others.  Much like my beloved wife.  I am so taken with her, I don’t have time or desire to covet another’s.

However, this time of year – Resurrection – I can’t help but be thankful that I am Christian.  Can you imagine being a part of another faith and have to explain to your child or someone inquiring innocently, what happened to Jesus’ body?  How would someone of another faith debate about the stone that was dislodged and rolled away?  Or, even what force knocked down the Roman soldiers?

There isn’t a day that goes by that I do not thank God that I am a born-again Christian.  There isn’t a day that passes that I don’t bless the Lord for the gift of the Holy Spirit.  Rather than get into debates or arguments about other faiths, and instead of trying to convince other’s that they’re praying to the wrong deity or person, why don’t we celebrate our Savior?

The Word of tells us that the world will know that we’re converted because of the love we display for one another (John 13:35).  The Word also tells us that we are living epistles read of men (II Corinthians 3:2) – we know that they are watching.  Let’s give them something to look at.

This year during a hostile, racist and hateful climate, let’s demonstrate the love of Jesus.  This year as we attend the many services designed to commemorate Jesus’ sacrifice and victory on the Cross, let’s remember to be proud and happy that we serve a God who doesn’t need explanation.  We serve a God who is indescribable and awesome.  Let’s focus so much on our Savior that we won’t have time to argue about another one – for there is no other.

Here at Holiness Tabernacle we’ve planned a series of activities.  We’ll relive some of the parables He told during His last week on earth.  We’ll have services to commemorate the Last Supper and Feet Washing.  We will have special presentations about the seven last words He spoke from the Cross.  And on Resurrection Sunday, we’ll celebrate His victory over death, hell and the grave.  You’re welcome to join us.

It is my prayer that you’ll find yourself so busy worshipping Him, that you won’t have room for anything else.  There’s truly none like Him. What a special time to show the world how awesome our Savior is!

I bless you in the name of the Lord!

Happy Resurrection Day!!
