Now that the school year is over and the summer is starting, I can kick back, relax and think about all the changes that took place this school year.
My first change was when I moved from Pennsylvania to Virginia and started a new school; it was a little bit scary, because I only went to one other school before and I knew everyone there. Coming to Virginia meant I had to start all over and make new friends, which sometimes was hard to do. I met some nice and some not so nice kids at my new school; I learned that just because a kid is in my class, that doesn’t mean that he or she is my friend. Friendship has to be earned and it can take some time before a person really becomes my friend.
My second change was when I came to church with my grandparents; I was really happy when the pastor said I could join the church. I like being at Holiness Tabernacle because Deacon Moses always shakes my hand and says hello to me when we get to church, and I like talking to the pastor at the end of the service. I really like being able to take Holy Communion, because I wasn’t able to at my old church – so that’s a really big change!
My final change will be when I go back to Pennsylvania for the summer and spend time with my mom, my dad, my brother and sister; I’m looking forward to spending the summer with them and just relaxing.
