Your Answer is in the Book

For many of us this has been a year full of challenges. In this present time where sickness, isolation, and job loss has become the new reality to many of us, it is imperative that we are able to stay positive and to trust and lean on God. This is often easier said than done, especially when our troubles disrupt the norms in our lives that we cherish the most. If your experience has been anything like mine, Covid-19 has presented tests to areas in your life that you didn’t know could be threatened.

Although we are all human and these troubles and tests hurt; we believers should be encouraged, because the answer to all our troubles are in the book! The bible is our complete guide to advice and directions on how to handle any situation. Here are a few scriptures that have encouraged me during these times:

  • 1st Corinthians 10:13 tells us that God will not put more on us that we can bear. Trusting and believing this is an important step to keeping our hearts and minds intact in these difficult times.
  • In 1st Samuel 30:6, King David was greatly distressed but he encouraged himself in the Lord just like we need to do today.
  • Philippians 4:7 tells us that we can have peace that passes all understanding. When we are going through struggles that seem impossible to overcome, this reminds us that our peace probably won’t make sense to most people. We remain at peace because we know that with God all things are possible.

If the year 2020 has been a difficult one for you, remember that no matter what your situation is, your answer is in the book.
