Who we are – Holiness Tabernacle Church Of God In Christ, Inc. is located in Woodbridge, Virginia, a suburb of Washington D.C., in eastern Prince William County. Holiness Tabernacle is affiliated with the Church Of God In Christ. Holiness Tabernacle is identified as a holiness church, in which the unadulterated Word of God is preached, attendees are encouraged to live holy and sanctified (set apart) lives and be filled with the Holy Ghost (Spirit), as the Lord commanded (Ephesians 5:8).
Our beginning – On February 22, 1998, the first services at Holiness Tabernacle were held in the Pruitte family room. The doors of the church were “opened,” and the entire Pruitte family joined, becoming the charter members. The message preached on the first Sunday was titled “Why Holiness”. The following week the message was “The Tabernacle,” and while ministering, the Lord spoke to Pastor Pruitte to find a more suitable location for worship. The Lord gave the church favor with Neabsco Elementary School where worship services began March 8, 1998.
Since then, the church’s growth and impact has been God sponsored, and Spirit led. During the “Great Recession” of 2009, Holiness Tabernacle was blessed to purchase property at 1440 Old Bridge Road, in Woodbridge, Virginia. Located just off Interstate 95, some refer to this as the front door of Prince William County. God continued to bless.
Our church today – During the height of the pandemic, God favored Holiness Tabernacle to receive a letter of commitment from a local bank: Pastor Pruitte and the saints continued to fast, pray, and work. During a time when many businesses and ministries struggled, Holiness Tabernacle was blessed to purchase land outright, without the assistance of a financial institution – God showed Himself mighty! The following year, the church received land-use approval from Prince William County.
In what many say was record time, Holiness Tabernacle received site plan approval, and in the spring of 2024, broke ground on their future home – 1505 Walnut Street, Woodbridge, Virginia 22191. On March 9, 2025, the saints of Holiness Tabernacle marched into their new home. Praise be to God!
Holiness Tabernacle is a church that believes in praising and worshipping God. We emphasize teaching the Word of God, travailing in prayer, and fasting and we exemplify what is commonly referred to as a New Testament Church. The membership continues to share testimonies of healing (cancer, asthma, seizures, hypertension, demonic possession, depression, etc.) deliverance and prosperity.
Holiness Tabernacle is also a church that is committed to serving in its community. Our World Missions Department has gained area-wide recognition for its feeding program that serves hundreds of families in the Washington Metropolitan Region. Holiness Tabernacle also has several other ministries designed to reach and minister to every age and demographic. From the children (Sunshine Band, Puritans), to seniors (Guiding Angels Ministry – GAM), Women’s and Men’s Departments, Marriage Ministry, and many more. There are Bible study classes for all ages and an impressive Music Department (Sanctuary Choir, Men’s Chorus, Women’s and Youth Choirs, and Praise & Worship Team).
The Lord has tremendously blessed Holiness Tabernacle. When you visit, you will find a God-loving, God-fearing congregation. You will feel the move of the Spirit and experience a mighty move of God. You will feel welcomed and loved by a family of believers who have been impacted by the love of Jesus Christ.
