Night 1: Revival begins with prayer
Elder Coles defines revival as a restoration of life or use. He stated that revival begins with prayer which is described in Luke 18:1. He also said prayer controls your actions and if it does then your actions will always be right which is told in Hebrews 11:6. Elder Coles went on to describe the various ways that we can pray to God. We can pray using our mouths. We can pray by way of our thoughts. Saints can pray through song or through writing, and he stated that we can pursue God even through our dreams. The saints should always pray and not be ashamed to pray. According to Elder Coles, when we pray, the Saints cease fussing and complaining but instead are able to cast their cares upon God.
Night 2: Relying on God
On this night, the Revivalist brought out that we must rely on God. Our measure of faith, our dependency on God, submitting to the will of God-including our spiritual leadership i.e. our pastor-are required of the Saints in order to have an effective prayer life.
Night 3: Many types of Prayer
Elder Coles pointed out several ways to communicate with God. There were many individuals throughout the Bible who called on the Lord for help by crying out with a loud voice or sound (instruments). Another way to talk to God is through dreams i.e. King Solomon. Moreover, he goes on to say that one can talk to the Lord without speaking a word but in his or her mind. He goes further to admonish some Christians who “under utilizes prayer”. Basically, we as Saints of the most high should not limit God. Stop putting Him in the Box and recognize Him as mighty and able to take on any situation that we may be facing in our lives.
Each night, someone was delivered and/or healed. Elder Coles allowed God to use him to minister to the Saints of Holiness Tabernacle. Our souls were truly blessed and revived.
