I Am Committing to the Lord

I Am Committing to the Lord

By Brother Joel Norman

Proverbs 16:3 says, “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans” (NIV). It means that as long as you are a working man, He will help you and guide you. This applies to me because I pray to God and follow Him, and this has led me to the path I follow today.

I compare it to Abraham. God told Abraham he needed to sacrifice his son. It seemed like a bad situation at first, but Abraham followed God’s Word and it all worked out in the end. All he had to do was trust in God and let Him take the lead. I will continue this by praying to God and staying committed to the church.

I have recently joined the army and I will be headed off to boot camp in May. At first, I was unsure and did not want to join the service. The more I prayed about the situation and thought about it, however, it became clear to me that I should follow this path. Staying faithful to the church and praying is the most important part. As long as you are faithful, God will guide you and establish your plans, today and in the future.
