Christian Education Department
- The purpose of the Christian Education Department is to support the academic development of the youth in the church. They encourage the youth to excel in several ways such as tutoring, monthly book clubs and academic recognition. They also sponsor several educational events throughout the year including Vacation Bible School, the Black History program, Multi-cultural night and the Christmas program.
Hospitality Committee
- The purpose of the Hospitality Committee is to show kindness in entertaining strangers, visitors and special guest on behalf of the Women’s Department. Their purpose is to make others happy through the giving of gifts, preparing dinners and entertaining guests.
- The purpose of the Marriage Ministry is to educate, motivate and empower married couples through teaching, fellowship, weekend marriage retreats and other small group activities that will develop and maintain positive spirit-filled marriages. The Marriage Ministry seeks to help couples understand God’s sovereign plan for marriage, the roles of spouses within marriage, and the wonderful blessing marriage can be when both spouses are obedient to God’s Word. Strong marriages help build strong churches.
- The purpose of the Men’s Department is not only to be leaders in our home, communities and church, but also support the vision of our pastor as we build a work that is pleasing unto the Lord. We endeavor to become better husbands, fathers and brothers. We plan, teach and prepare the younger men and boys to be successful in the demands and challenges they face: marriage, ministry, careers and become productive members of the Church and society. We believe our responsibility is to Provide, Protect, Prevent and Procreate.
- The purpose of the Missions Department is to serve our families, church and community, spreading the message of holiness, by meeting their physical needs. They provide food and clothing to all who come with a need and help alleviate burdens.
Music Department
- The purpose of the Music Department, as an integral part of the overall ministry of the church, is to lead congregants in worship during the services. The music ministry recognizes that music is a tool God has given us to encourage the saints, witness to the lost and ultimately praise and worship Him.
Nurses Unit
- The purpose of the Nurses Unit is to provide wellness information and promote a healthy lifestyle. The purpose is to expedite health and safety matters related to attendees during church services. They also provide workshops and classes related to health and first aide.
Pastor’s Aide
- The purpose of the Pastor’s Aide Department is to support the pastor in the ministry to make his job easier – whatever his needs are. They encourage the members to support and raise offerings by sowing and investing into the ministry, through pastoral offerings and Good Sheppard offerings.
Public Relations Department
- The purpose of the Public Relations Department is to publicize and promote the mission of the church, by highlighting activities and programs in an effort to draw more souls to Christ.
Sunday School Department
- The purpose of the Sunday School Department is to inspire students to read, study and follow the Bible in his or her life. Teachers motivate students to study and learn God’s Word by encouraging them to interact and participate in class.
Usher Board
- The purpose of the Usher’s Board is to show love and share it with all that enter into the house of the Lord. An usher is the first person that people come in contact with when entering the church. Ushers set the atmosphere by greeting everyone with love, kindness, and encouraging words and most importantly a smile. The usher is to always abide by the instructions of the pastor.
- The purpose of the Women’s Department is to work under the direction of the pastor to support the ministry of the church. They help meet the spiritual, natural and financial needs of the church. The Women’s Department meets every 2nd Saturday to fellowship as women of God. They also host a Tea and a Retreat every year.
- The purpose of the Youth Department is to educate the youth on the basic principles and tenets of the Christian faith and the Church Of God In Christ doctrine. They also encourage the youth in wholesome recreation and active involvement in the church.
