Scripture:
Jeremiah 1:5 (KJV) – “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.”
Jeremiah 1:5 (NLT) – “I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.”
Thought:
Have you ever felt useless? Unloved? Unwanted? Like everyone else had something going on for them but you had no purpose? The things you are trying have failed? One study finds that 1/3 of people struggle with the feeling of loneliness. While another study cited that 1 in 4 women and 1 in 8 men suffer from some form of depression/unwanted feelings. I can say at one time or another I was that man. Many of you reading this can probably say the same thing.
While we each have had a time in our lives that was not the best, we are still standing today. Some of our closest friends and loved ones may have taken the “easier” route because they forgot how important they are. Depression, loneliness, and unwanted feelings are very real feelings so first, do not let anyone tell you any different. The enemy would have you believe that your life was meant to be this way. This is a falsehood.
Our lives are meant to be awesome and purpose driven. The Lord made each of us special and unique. There is no one in the world quite like you. You can be an identical twin and you will still be night and day from your twin. In our scripture God lets us know that we were made with purpose even from the very beginning. When our souls became a living being, it was already tagged with a purpose to support the plan of God Himself.
Knowing who you are and whose you are will make all the difference in how you approach every day in your business. Knowing you have a purpose gives you the acknowledgement and reassurance that you are important no matter what anyone else may tell you. You are meant for something greater than you could even imagine in your limited sight. Never forget you were made with a purpose in mind and your gifts and talents are all part of that. If you do not know your purpose, go to God personally and let Him answer you. Who better to get information on your purpose, and how to achieve then the He that gave it to you?
Prayer:
Lord, thank for making me with a purpose. Thank you for reminding me that I am important to You even when I do not feel like it. When I have felt lonely and unwanted, You reminded me that I am loved and special to You. You knew before I was born – made to stand out – and called me to work for You. Help me today to find out what my purpose is and listen to You for the instructions on how to achieve it. Strengthen me in my Purpose Driven life. In Jesus Name. Amen.
