My Promised Job!

My name is sister Vanessa and I’ve got a testimony! I have been a member of Holiness Tabernacle for the past 10 years. Over the years, I have been praying for God to bless me with a job that He said He has for me. As part of my journey, I migrated to the United States 29 years ago, went back to school, and went on to obtain a BS, and a Master’s degree.

In 2004 I did obtain the job that I believe God had specifically for me, but unfortunately, that contract ended in 2009. Although I was very educated, obtaining a job was difficult. But I soon discovered that God’s timing was perfect, because soon after my job ended, my mother became very ill and I was the only person in our family able to take care of her. I faithfully took care of my mother for two and a half years and was so grateful to have had the time with her.

My mother died shortly after I found another job. But like before, that job only lasted three year and I was once again in the unemployment market. I could not find full-time employment, only short temporary assignments. In July 2016, a friend reached out to me to say she kept hearing these words: Call Vanessa, this job is for her! I interviewed for the position, got the job and have been with my current employer for the past four years. Not only that, but I have been promoted twice. I am now a federal employee in the position I knew God said He had for me, so many years before.

God has a plan for each and every one of us. As my testimony shows, I had to preserver and continue to believe God when He said He was giving me a specific job. No, He did not say when or where, but I knew it was coming. He placed me with the right people to obtain the right job that He had for me. God gave this job to me at His appointed time. I endured some struggles along the way, but I kept the faith that if God says He will do something, He will do it. And that’s my testimony!
