Social Impacts of COVID-19

COVID-19 has impacted social classes for people living in poverty, sadly, most acutely for the lower class, the lower paid, and lower-skilled workers.  This has also brought attention to social differences, but this will not guarantee a change for the better.  For the higher class or rich people, they have taken to their yachts and private jets. The wealthier class also appear to receive preferential treatment. 

COVID-19 has also uncovered racism and inequality.  Unfortunately, people have shown their true colors displaying how they can be racist, xenophobic, misogynist, etc.! There has been a rise, and I mean a significant rise, in hate crimes which is horrible. Most of the hate crimes are against Asian people. A reason for this is because President Donald Trump has called COVID-19 the “Chinese virus”. I feel that this is awful.  It saddens me to see how this pandemic has brought out the hate and racism in people. We need to put our faith in God because I know (and we should all know) He can get us through this! Never lose faith in God, our Father.
