Vivian Valdez Pruitte is the first lady of Holiness Tabernacle Church Of God In Christ, located on the front doorsteps of Prince William County in Woodbridge, Virginia. Having served beside her husband, Pastor Eddie B Pruitte, Jr. for twenty years, the church has enjoyed tremendous growth. Endowed with many gifts of the Holy Spirit, First Lady Pruitte imparts holy and sound teaching to the women and allows God to fully utilize her in every capacity.
A native of the Dominican Republic, Vivian (born Viviana) Valdez immigrated to New York with her mother and family where she successfully completed her secondary education through New York City schools and enrolled in the College of Staten Island where she majored in nursing. In 2010 she graduated magna-cum-laude from George Mason University with a bachelor’s degree in English and a concentration in cultural Studies.
Sister Valdez was introduced to holiness by a friend and member of First Church Of God In Christ in Staten Island, New York. She accepted the call of salvation and was later baptized with the gift of the Holy Ghost. Sister Valdez was a faithful member, serving in the choir and various auxiliaries. She met Elder Eddie B Pruitte, Jr. while he visited his sister who attended the same church, and they were married the following year. Soon after, they relocated to the Washington D.C. metropolitan region.
In 1998, the spirit of the Lord impressed upon her husband to start a work, Holiness Tabernacle Church Of God In Christ in the Woodbridge area of Prince William County Virginia. As she walked with her husband, First Lady Pruitte started organizing lessons and programs suited for women and children, seeking God for His divine wisdom, and obeying His instructions. A mighty worshipper and prayer warrior, it is not uncommon to see her pray the women through to victory!
First Lady Pruitte is a licensed evangelist missionary. At Holiness Tabernacle she serves as president of the Christian Education Department and on the Mother’s Board. First Lady Pruitte is best known for her keen knowledge of the Word of God. Her ability to “…rightly divide the word of truth” never ceases to amaze all who cross her path. This God-given gift has not gone unnoticed. First Lady Pruitte has been appointed by Bishop Gibson prelate of Dominican Republic Jurisdiction and Bishop Vincent Mathews, President of World Missions COGIC., as an Advisory Missionary to the Journey Center in the Dominican Republic where she will be working with girls who have been victims of sexual trafficking.
In her professional career, First Lady Pruitte was the Director of Operations for New Horizons Computer Learning Center in McLean, Virginia. She later served as a parent liaison in the Prince William Public School system for six years where she assisted many parents, especially those in the Latino community.
First Lady Vivian Pruitte has been married for over thirty-five years to the anointed man of God, Pastor Eddie B Pruitte, Jr. To their union, the Lord has blessed them with four daughters, two sons-in-law and five grandchildren. She now joins her husband working full-time in the ministry traveling abroad on mission trips, aiding others, and displaying the true qualities God has provided.
