The person that came in last place may look at themselves as a winner, though, because even though they came last they persevered until the end. In God's race, the race is not given to the swift or strong but the one who endureth till the end. You can walk, skip, run, jog or even crawl as long as you keep going. In a race everyone is moving towards the finish line. In God’s race, His people are moving closer to Him and that is our finish line.

During the race things may get tough. You may feel like you're not in shape for this, or you're too tired, but never give up! In a race, why train and prepare for so long just to give up? In God’s race why obey Him and praise Him just to give up? In either type of race, you never turn back because it may look dark and stormy for a time, but there's always a prize at the end. Whether it be a trophy, a medal or a certificate. In God’s race it may be a blessing or even entering His kingdom.

For me, my race wasn't always easy. For example in high school, the people I was surrounded by weren’t always running the same race as I was. What I'm trying to say is that, you may encounter people that don't go to church, don't believe that prayer works, or even believe in a different God than you do – but that doesn't mean that we join their race. What we're supposed to do is tell people how good our race is, so that they join our race and walk, run, skip or crawl on our journey to God with us.

Again, my race wasn't always easy. At one point I was just starting off the race. There were times I didn't want to go to church or praise God, but when I continued to walk my race I realize the importance of going to church and praising God. That walking turned into jogging and then running. I saw myself grow in my race and the joy that goes through your body when you realize you're doing God’s work is unspeakable. I may get tired, but I will never ever ever sit down!

The post The Race – August 2K13 Youthful Expression appeared first on Holiness Tabernacle.

<post-id xmlns="com-wordpress:feed-additions:1">3113</post-id>

Pentecostal News – May/June 2010 Edition

HTC Admin

Newsletter

Another Level

East Regional Youth Rally

Elevation of Vivian Pruitte

Pentecostal News

The 40-Day Fast

The Race

The Way Side

Upcoming Events

In this edition of the Pentecostal News, read about The 40-Day Fast Elevation of 1st Lady Vivian Pruitte East Regional Youth Rally Recap and more Click HERE to view the latest Pentecostal News e-Zine!

The post Pentecostal News – May/June 2010 Edition appeared first on Holiness Tabernacle.

In this edition of the Pentecostal News, read about

The 40-Day Fast

Elevation of 1st Lady Vivian Pruitte

East Regional Youth Rally Recap

and more

Click HERE to view the latest Pentecostal News e-Zine!

The post Pentecostal News – May/June 2010 Edition appeared first on Holiness Tabernacle.

<post-id xmlns="com-wordpress:feed-additions:1">583</post-id>

The Race – May 2K10 WTLB

HTC Admin

Women

WordstoLiveBy

Danieth Pryce

HTC Women's Department

Mother Vivian Pruitte

The Race

Life is a journey which presents many obstacles, but with Christ in you there is power to overcome. Without persistency, dedication and motivation throughout my track and field career I wouldn’t have achieved success in that field. I appreciate the talent God gave me and I certainly did not hold it in stagnation. Not only that, but I have transferred the knowledge I gained on the field and am learning to apply the same principles as I walk with Christ.

Imagine having to run a race such as the 4×100 meters. In this event, it requires four individuals with somewhat of the same speed to complete the race successfully. There is an object that connects all four individuals which is the ‘baton.’ The first person starting the race has to run 100m then passes the baton to the next person until it gets to the last person to take it to the finish line first. Before this happens, there is the conditioning phase, the preparation (training) phase and finally the competition phase. In the conditioning and preparation phase some hurdles may present themselves such as not finding the chemistry with the team members and adjusting to the different speed levels; needing to develop mental and physical strength which could cause injury in the process; or learning to follow and adhere to the coach’s instructions even when they may not seem very realistic. But as you humble yourself and follow the coach’s principles and instructions, you have the potential to endure phases one and two and be well equipped to experience victory in winning the race.

As saints, we are running a race to achieve that heavenly goal. The common object is our ‘Bible’ which will teach us about the way, the truth and the life, to be a winner. We need to encourage each other to gain knowledge about the Word by being consistent and staying prayerful. There will be obstacles, trials and temptations but if we are with one accord, praying, fasting and fellowshipping together, and following the instructions of our leader we can get through the competition phase and be victorious.

So I encourage everyone to hold steadfast, be consistent and be persistent in the race to become a winner in Christ, for the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong… Ecclesiastes 9:11.

God Bless You!
Sister Danieth Pryce

The post The Race – May 2K10 WTLB appeared first on Holiness Tabernacle.

<post-id xmlns="com-wordpress:feed-additions:1">556</post-id>
